"Well." Sandry said, grinning. She pulled her binder out of her purse and dropped it on her bed, flipping it open. She ruffled right through to her math homework, stared at it blankly for a few seconds, then swore and slammed the cover closed, sliding it back into the bag. "Anyhoo. What'd you do today? Did I miss anything important?" then she turned and gave her sister an evil grin. "Who do you like?!" she said, almost too loudly, grinning brightly and wiggling her toes under the sheets. She pulled her still wet hair up into a scrunchy and lay down on the pillow, staring in Kandy's direction, waiting for a reasponse.

"Nothing important. And nobody. I hate everybody." Kandy flashed the smallest smile in her sister's direction. She was lying both ways, because she could never tell her sister what happened today, and she hated all guys now. All. Guys. Every single one of them. "No, I love you Sand, I just hate guys. Stupid, immature guys. I don't like anyone, and I did nothing important today," she repeated, not knowing what to say. She quickly changed the subject. "Sooo, how were tacos tonight?"

"Aww. Theres not many guys at our school anyway though" she said thoughtfully, shrugging. "Eryk's.. amazing" she grinned. "And we skipped dinner... didn't you notice?" she asked.

Kandy flushed pale, and half hid under under her sheets. She half wanted to scream 'NO BECAUSE I WAS BEING RAPED BY A PERVERT!!!', but she knew, then, Sandry would be eating dinner in the infirmatory. While she layed there because of Zak. The threat echoed in her mind- If you tell anybody about this you can be assured that I will put you near death. You will be in pain for the rest of your life. She mumbled, "I was.... busy."

"Oh" Sandry said, "Did Temime miss me?" She dug her cell phone out of her bag and placed in on the nightstand, turning the ringer way up and hoping to death Eryk would call.

"Yeah, she was yelling. She told me that if you didn't show up next time for class, she'd take points away from your grade," she said, smirking. "Maybeh you'd better think next time before cuttin' class, huh?" At that moment, unsuspectedly, a phone started ringing. She watched Sandry check wildly at her's, but when it wasn't her phone, Kandy widened her eyes. It was hers. NOBODY ever called her! She excitedly picked up her pretty camera phone with the clear diamonds on the front, and opened it, saying, "Hello, this is Kandy Arundhati?" She listened for a moment, and then sprang all the way out of bed and jumped up and down on the pink comforter. She stopped for a moment, and then took the phone away from her ear, holding her hand to the speaker, and hissing with the biggest smile on her face, "It's MOM!"

"Oh" Sandry said, "Cool" She sat up straighter, hugging her knees to her chest and rocking back and forth on the bed. "Put it on speeeeeeeaakerr" she whined.

((xD)) Kandy nodded, still smiling wide, and put the phone onto speaker. Almost immediately, a silky woman's tone said through the phone, "Kandy? Sweety? You there?" "Yeah, mom, I'm here, and so is Sandry!" "Sandry's there? Hello baby! So, how is your stay at Chuo Sehemu? I've heard it is good, what do you two think? Oh, I miss you two so much!" "It's fine, mom. Really.." Kandy murmered. Even though it wasn't fine. Perverted boys, a war where the enemy wanted to kill them ALL, and just plain missing her old life. "Oh, thats good. Sandry, what do you think of your time there?" Cutting Sandry off again, their mother muttered fast, "Hold on girls, one moment," and there was the sound of the phone being set down and their mother calling something inaudibly. Kandy smiled. "Well, there's mom for you. Always in a rush. I wonder where she went?"

Sandry shrugged, and as soon as their mother's voice came back onto the line, she bursted out with her news. "OHMYGOD. Guess what! Theres this guy I've known for a while, and we were really good friends, and he asked me out todayyyy" she said, grinning insanely.

Kandy rolled her eyes. She HAD to bring it up. And she knew exactly what her mom would say. "Thats GREAT honey!" Kandy's face fell, and her jaw opened. That was the opposite. "And I have a suprise for you two! Listen on the line for a minute-" The girls could hear the sound of the phone moving, and then a weird sound. It was like a snuffling, but higher, and some sniffing, and then they knew what it was- a high pitched yip. "Mom! You got a puppy!" Kandy cooed. "Yes! And he's all yours!" Kandy felt stunned. "What? Mom, you can't HAVE pets at Chuo Sehemu!" "Thats why WE wanted to ask you over the phone." A man's voice was heard. "Heyy, girls! You remember me?" Kandy lightened up. "DAD!" she yelled, jumping up and down. But she still didn't get it. "Mom, Dad, what do you want to ask me and Sandry?" She got down off the bed, and sat on the edge of her sister's, leaning up against her and holding the phone between the two. "Well, we were thinking about it a bit, and we were feeling so guilty about sending you two off. And now we miss you, and we wish that we could be together as a family again. So, would you two like to leave Chuo Sehemu over Winter Break and come be with us?"

Sandry didn't say anything. The christmas ball... the feast... both at Chuo Sehemu. She had heard such great things about both from everybody who had been at the school last year. When she had first met Angelina, she had spent all math class passing notes to her about how positively wonderful the food was, and how amazing the music was, and how the Christmas ball and feast were the best holiday celebrations at the school. And how they decorated the dining hall with a huge tree and tinsel and mistletoe and holly. And how real snowflakes sparkled in the air, and disappeared as soon as they hit the ground. And how the dancing was so amazing, and everybody always had so much fun. She had been really looking forward to both. Especially spending them with Eryk.

Kandy sadly put her head down. Oh, how much she wanted to go home, but she didn't care. She cared about the couple of friends she had already made at Chuo Sehemu, and all of the great things coming up- the festivals, and feasts, and all the time she had... everything she hadn't done. "Hello? Sandry? Kandy? Are you there darlings?" they heard their mother say. "Mom?" Kandy whispered, looking at Sandry, wanting to confirm. When her sister looked the same way, Kandy said, strongly, "Mom, we don't want to come. There is so much that we haven't done here, and we don't think we're ready to leave just yet." There was a deep sigh from their father, and her mother whispered something inaudibly to their father. Then, he spoke, "Girls, we respect that very much, so very well. We can always wait." Kandy smiled a half smile, then heard a small whine, and a bit of scratching on the reciever of the other line. "He's going to miss ya, girls," their dad said, chuckling, and their mother whispered, "Your father and I have a meeting we need to be at, girls. We'll have to let you go." Kandy smiled, and waved at the phone. "Bye Mom! Bye Dad!" "And Sandry?" their mother murmered to Sandry, "Take it easy with the boy. You don't know what kind of trouble you can get into when your young, sweety. Boys have a mind of their own, and they can always take advantage of you- take you the wrong direction. Now I have to be a mom- you will NOT let this boy take over your school work, you hear me? Just focus on the schoolwork first, and then your social life. If I see a drop of grade from my straight A girl, I'll know why and I'll make sure it doesn't happen anymore, ok?" Kandy smiled- mom talk. She waited for Sandry's goodbyes before she shut the phone.

"I'll be fine. Eryk's not like that. And neither am I. Ciao" Sandry said cheerfully, but groaned internally, her thoughts flickering to the skipped class, how she hadn't done her homework yet. Big deal. She wasn't going to let it accumulate. She'd ger her grades up.

Kandy turned off the phone. Her eyes set downward. Her sister had skipped a class, and skipped dinner, and had skipped her sister to be with this boy. There was no excuse for any of them. Her mom had said second priority but Sandry probably thought of him as first. Kandy blew a strand of hair out of her face as it tumbled down to be with her nose, and muttered, "I think I'm gonna go watch some TV." She got up, unlocked the door, and walked out to the common room, a bit upset.

Sandry sat there for a second, completely confused, then scowled bitterly and stood up, following her sister down to the common room. "Ohmygod, Kandy. You're mad because I left you to be with Eryk, aren't you?! I don't have to hang out with you every second of every day, so stop getting so upset just because I went and spent a few hours with somebody else." she scowled angrily. "You don't need to follow me around and spend every minute with me." There was a long pause. "It's not my fault you don't have any friends" she spat, then without waiting for a response, she turned around and walked back up to the dorm. Too mean She thought, but she didn't care.
